The hedline is a play on the words "podcast" and "Ruhrpott," where the
story was shot. It's an area famous for mining (see the mine-shaft lift
in the photo and hedline treatment).

This story poses the question: What comes after Steve Jobs?

A design inspired by vintage Brazilian posters.

In every issue, GQ Germany runs a feature about a (usually
scantily clad) young lady, and I enjoy giving these photos
a twist with conceptual opening type.

"Full Speed Ahead," a reportage piece about the Speed Sisters,
an all-women race-car team in Jordan.

Winner: SPD Merit for feature design
"The Army inside Me." American Gary Faulkner was arrested in
Pakistan while on a personal mission to behead Osama bin Laden.

I created the type for this evening-wear accessories story.

A reportage piece about a social networking site of sorts, which helps
refugees find family members and friends from whom they were separated.

"Explosive Subjects," a story about improvised explosive devices.

A fashion story about suits, shot in Berlin.

Some hella cute dogs for a cougar fashion story.

I also liked this other version, but it got axed for being too hard to read.

"The Stuff That Youth is Made Of." The lengths people go to
to say spry.

Winner: SPD Merit for feature design
My first collaboration with the fantastic Eddie Guy for
a story about the downfall of Tiger Woods.
